It has been noted that when the economy suffers crime rates tend to rise, as people become more desperate in their efforts to survive.

Recent statistics from the FBI seem to confirm this with homicides and robberies rising nearly four per cent and aggravated assaults up nearly two per cent in the last year.

However, a closer look at these figures show that last year crime actually dropped in the majority of the country. These crime rates then are being boosted by a concentration of increasingly dangerous neighborhoods.
